Hand Reflexology

A ritual for your hands

Ground

1

Press your thumb into the opposite palm and make small, gentle circles.
This point calms the nervous system and signals safety to the body.
30 seconds each hand.

BREATHE

2

Slowly slide your thumb up each finger, from pinky to thumb.
Each finger connects to an organ system and releasing tension here eases the upper body.
Repeat twice on each hand.

EASE

3

Knead the fleshy mound below your thumb in slow circles.
This zone reflects the digestive system, which is under particular pressure postpartum.
30 seconds each hand.

RELEASE

4

Work along the outer edge of your hand from wrist to little finger, using your opposite thumb. In reflexology this is the shoulder and hip line, a place many mothers carry tension.
Three slow passes each hand.

RESTORE

5

Press the webbing between thumb and index finger and hold.
This is one of the most widely used points for whole-body tension relief.
45 seconds each hand.

CLOSE

6

Hold both hands open, palms up.
Breathe in for four counts, out for six. Let the body receive the care.
Repeat five times.
